The story of Kai Naturals
It began in our own kitchen
It started with a question
Like most families, we cooked with whatever oil came in the shiny supermarket pouch. Then we started reading the labels, and asking how that oil was made.
Most everyday vegetable oils are pressed at high speed and heat, then chemically treated, bleached and deodorised until they have no colour and no smell. We could not say for sure what we were putting into our children's food every day, and that worried us.
So we went back to the way our grandparents did it.

Chapter one
Our own wooden press
We began pressing groundnut, sesame and coconut in a slow wooden press for our own kitchen. The oil stayed cool, golden and fragrant, the way oil used to be. Relatives asked for a bottle, then neighbours, then their friends.

Chapter two
Everyday essentials, made honestly
Oil was only the start. We looked at everything else our homes use every day: ghee, jaggery, the rice mixes our grandmothers made, hair oil and toothpaste. We wanted each of them simple, traditional and honestly labelled.
We partnered with Prakruthi Oil Mill, an FSSAI-licensed family mill, to make them in small batches. We choose the recipes, check every batch and pack them under the Kai Naturals name. Every label tells you exactly who made it.

Wood-pressed oils, slow-cooked ghee and small-batch mixes, the old way.
Why “Kai”
Kai comes from Kaivalya (कैवल्य), a Sanskrit word for purity and completeness. It is what we want in everything we make: simple ingredients, made gently, with nothing to hide.
